Imperial Ball is the premier annual fundraising event of the Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto (CCCGT). As we celebrate our 36^th anniversary in 2024, we reflect on the vibrant legacy we’ve built over three decades of fostering meaningful connections and cross-cultural understanding with various ethnic, cultural and artistic communities.  Through educational programs, dynamic events and thought-provoking exhibitions, we’ve showcased our culture and traditions, creating opportunities for community partnerships that celebrate our diversity and enable us to soar new heights of collective creativity.

The Imperial Ball will be held on Saturday, September 28, at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel. Highlights will include fabulous food from reception to dinner, and amazing entertainment. All funds raised will support the development and construction of the Asian Garden, situated at the heart of Scarborough and a truly unique addition to Ontario. You are cordially invited to join us at this unforgettable evening.

During the gala event, you will be savouring amazing hors d’oeuvres and dinner created by the Executive Chef at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel.

The feature performance will be presented by the distinguished Tenor Lawrence Wiliford accompanied by the fascinating East meets West PhoeNX Ensemble. Together, they have collaborated with the British composer Alec Roth to re-visit and re-invent his original work “Songs in Time of War” to include erhu. This new cross-cultural version enhances and accentuates the true nature and imagery of the words as written by the celebrated poet DuFu as translated by Vikram Seth, adding layers of colour, beauty and depth to a richly woven tapestry of love, loss, and hope.

The special performance, with the support of Steinway & Sons, will showcase the winner of our Toronto International Music Festival Mr. Eddie Chen.

Live Auction items include a fabulous Roger Dubuis lady’s diamond and gold watch from their “Velvet Collection” donated by Royal de Versailles, and two fabulous dinners for ten from The Chef’s House.

There will be an array of attractive silent auction items on display which include a special collection of Chinese hand-crafted art pieces, popular dinner certificates, brand name sunglasses, sports tickets and many more.

We are very honoured to have Mr. Lenny Wong as the Special Anniversary Imperial Ball Chairman. His long-term commitment to CCCGT is very much commended.

We also have two youth Co-chairs, Caitlin Wong and Max Cheung, who will carry on with the support which their parents have dedicated to CCCGT.
