Dr. Sean Zhang 張曉鶴博士

Dr. Sean X. Zhang is an Ontario lawyer and a partner at Dale & Lessmann LLP, responsible for its IP and China practice. Dr. Zhang is also a patent agent registered to practice before both Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) and United States Patent and Trademark Office and a registered trademark agent in Canada.

Dr. Zhang practices in intellectual property (IP) law and business law areas, and advises clients on applying for and registering patents, trademarks and industrial designs in Canada, United States, China, Europe and around the world and on a wide range of IP related matters. He also advises clients on and assists with negotiating M&A, joint ventures, shareholder agreements, investment, finance and other corporate and commercial law matters.

Born in China, Dr. Zhang studied and obtained his Ph.D in physics in the U.S., studied law in Canada, worked briefly in Hong Kong at a leading international law firm during law school and practiced law in a top national law firm in Toronto for over 10 years before moved his law practice to his present firm. He believes in giving back to the society and the community. He has volunteered his time and energy as a board director of Canadian Fencing Federation, as committee member of legislation committee, licensing committee, patent liaison committee with CIPO, and other committees of Intellectual Property Institute of Canada and CIPO’s Bank of Speakers.

張曉鶴博士是安大略律師，戴爾·萊斯曼律師事務所的合夥人，負責所裡的知識產權和中國業務。張律師也是在加拿大知識產權局（CIPO）和美國專利商標局註冊的專利代理人，在加拿大註冊的商標代理人。

張律師的法律服務範圍包括知識產權法和公司法/商法，幫助客戶在加拿大、美國、中國、歐洲申請、註冊專利、商標、工業設計，就各類知識產權問題給予諮詢、服務，幫助客戶談判、完成併購、合資項目、股東合同、投資、融資，及處理其他公司、商法業務。

張博士出生於中國，在美國取得物理博士，在加拿大法學院畢業，並曾在讀法學博士期間在香港一家國際律師事務所短暫工作。張律師在一家加拿大頂尖律師事務所執業十多年後，將其業務轉到現在的律所。張博士相信回饋社會和社區，業餘時間擔任加拿大擊劍聯盟(CFF)的理事，加拿大知識產權協會(IPIC)立法委員會，許可委員會，CIPO專利協調委員會等委員會委員，和CIPO講師庫成員。
